Kennametal company has introduced its groundbreaking KYHK15B™ ceramic turning grade. This innovative product enhances performance in hard turning operations while aiming for lower operating costs for each cutting edge.

Kennametal, with this advanced grade, offering deeper cuts than PCBN inserts in hardened steels, high-heat-resistant alloys, and gray cast iron. It delivers maximum tool durability and wear performance even in the most difficult turning conditions.

Robert Keilmann, Kennametal product manager, commented: “KYHK15B exhibits excellent edge stability and superior chip breaking. Its PVD gold coating makes wear monitoring extremely practical. From light to heavy-duty cutting conditions, KYHK15B represents an economical alternative to PCBN inserts.”

KYHK15B expands Kennametal’s existing premium ceramic turning grade line, providing manufacturers with an effective solution for hard turning operations, even under variable or heavy-duty cutting conditions.
