French Turkish Decarbonization

The France-Turkey Decarbonization and Green Energy Forum will be held on November 21, 2025, at the Rixos Tersane Istanbul Event Hall, aiming to strengthen energy cooperation between Turkey and France and accelerate the sustainable energy transition, by CCI France Turquie.

High-Level Participation Expected

The forum will commence under the hosting of TAV Executive Committee President and President of the French Chamber of Commerce in Turkey, Franck Mereyde. The opening session will feature significant remarks from Saint-Gobain Turkey CEO Aykut Aydoğan, EU Delegation to Turkey Cooperation Head Maria Luisa Wyganowski, and France’s Ambassador to Turkey, Isabelle Dumont.

Keynote speakers at the forum include Veolia Middle East and Near East CEO Pascal Grante and Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar. This high-level participation will highlight the importance both countries place on energy transformation and decarbonization.

Agenda: Two Critical Panels and Networking Opportunities

Registration for the event will begin at 13:00 in the afternoon, with the opening session starting the program between 13:30-14:30. Following this, the first panel of the day, titled “The Future of Energy: Decarbonization, Efficiency, and Sustainability,” will be held from 14:30 to 15:30.

The first panel, moderated by EU Delegation to Turkey Attaché Christian Ballaro, will bring together leading figures from the sector. Veolia Turkey Country Director Metin Suadiyeli, Schneider Electric Turkey and Central Asia Industrial Automation Vice President Alişan Çapan, Vicat Turkey Industrial Manager Olivier Thomas, and Rönesans Holding Energy Group President Emre Hatem will share their experiences on energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and sustainable production processes.

The panel will address critical topics such as reducing carbon emissions in industrial processes, smart energy management systems, and the integration of green technologies. Participants will discuss Turkey’s potential in its energy transformation and the importance of technology transfer in this process.

After a coffee break between 15:30-16:00, the day’s second panel will begin.

Green Financing: The Catalyst for the Clean Energy Transition

The second panel, taking place from 16:00 to 17:00, will address “Green Financing: Accelerating Decarbonization and the Clean Energy Transition.” The session, moderated by Deputy Head of the Regional Economic Department of the French Embassy, Orhan Chiali, will host significant discussions on financing sustainable energy projects.

Proparco Regional Director Steven Gardon, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Energy Eurasia Director Şule Kılıç, TEB Corporate and Investment Banking Deputy General Manager Ömer Yenidoğan, and KPMG Infrastructure Sector Leader Görkem Yapan will share their views on green financing instruments, sustainable investment models, and climate finance.

Panel participants will emphasize the critical role of green bonds, sustainability-linked loans, and private sector investments in the energy transition. Financing opportunities presented within the framework of the European Union’s Green Deal and Turkey’s potential to utilize these resources will be discussed in detail.

An Important Platform for Strategic Cooperation

The forum will create a significant platform for taking concrete steps towards deepening cooperation in the energy sector between Turkey and France. Both countries are taking determined steps to achieve their 2050 carbon neutrality targets and agree on developing joint projects in this process.

The event will offer an opportunity to leverage the experience and technologies of French companies in increasing Turkey’s renewable energy capacity, enhancing energy efficiency, and accelerating the transition to clean technologies. Simultaneously, it will provide crucial insights for Turkish companies regarding access to European markets and adaptation to international standards.

Bilateral meetings and networking sessions held within the scope of the forum will allow for the laying of foundations for concrete cooperation projects. Participants will exchange views on how the energy transition is not only an environmental necessity but also an economic opportunity.
