Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association (İMMİB), with the support of the European Union, is implementing the project “SUPPORTING CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND RESILIENCE BY PREVENTING WATER LOSS”, which is of great importance for the future of Turkey. The grant agreement of the project, of which the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change is the program authority, was signed by İMMİB Coordinator President Adil Pelister.

The project aims to support adaptation and resilience to climate change by raising awareness about water management in the chemical and mining sectors. The grant agreement for the project implemented by İMMİB and supported by the European Union was signed by İMMİB Coordinator President Adil Pelister. After the contract was signed, the project officially started its activities as of December 14, 2023.

The project aims to reduce the amount of water that can be lost in the manufacturing of chemicals and chemical products and the manufacturing of non-metallic mineral products in the Marmara Region. In this way, it is aimed to slow down the devastating effects of climate change affecting the whole world and increase resilience against them. Within the scope of the project, some analyzes will be carried out regarding water use in the production processes of companies operating in relevant sectors. On the other hand, in order to raise awareness about water management, it is planned to examine good practice examples carried out in Europe and disseminate these experiences.

İMMİB aims to contribute to a more sustainable future by increasing the awareness of companies and our country about water consumption, which has an important place in the adaptation process to climate change.
