Published

on

Alicona Imaging GmbH has completed a legal merger with Bruker Austria, with the combined entity operating as Bruker Austria GmbH effective October 1, 2025. The headquarters of Bruker Austria GmbH is now located in Raaba/Graz, Austria.

Merger Details

The consolidation represents a legal restructuring rather than an operational change. The Bruker Alicona brand name will be retained, and the company will continue to operate in the optical 3D metrology sector.

Urban Muraus, General Manager at Bruker Alicona, stated that the change establishes Raaba/Graz as the headquarters of Bruker Austria and reflects the role of metrology in manufacturing operations.

Company Background

Bruker Alicona originated as a university spin-off in Graz, Austria in the early 2000s. The company developed Focus-Variation technology, an optical measurement method that combines surface roughness and form measurement capabilities.

The company’s customer base includes manufacturers in aerospace, automotive, medical device, and precision engineering sectors. In 2018, Bruker Alicona became part of the Bruker Group’s Industrial Metrology Division.

Bruker Alicona manufactures optical metrology systems used in quality assurance processes, including manual inspection and automated production line integration. The systems are designed for applications requiring dimensional accuracy and surface measurement.

Operational Changes

The merger consolidates Bruker’s Austrian business operations under a single legal entity. Staff previously based at Bruker Austria’s Vienna location will be integrated into the Raaba/Graz operations.

The reorganization positions the Raaba/Graz facility as the central location for Bruker Austria GmbH’s activities within the company’s global structure.
