Toyota Manufactures in Türkiye and Exports as Europe’s Hybrid Production Hub

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Türkiye (TMMT) became Türkiye’s second-largest goods exporter in the Turkish Exporters Assembly’s “Top 1000 Exporters of Türkiye 2025” ranking, with 3.9 billion dollars in exports in 2025.

The achievement reflects not only export volume, but also Türkiye’s growing production capability, hybrid vehicle expertise and high engineering standards.

Toyota’s Sakarya plant, one of the company’s largest production facilities in Europe, manufactures the Toyota C-HR and Corolla models and exports them to more than 100 countries across five continents.

Türkiye stands out as Toyota’s hybrid production hub in Europe

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Türkiye President and CEO Murat Bülbül said Türkiye’s strategic importance within Toyota’s global production network continues to increase each year. He noted that the company’s sustainable success is based on a people-oriented approach, advanced technology investments and a deep-rooted production philosophy focused on quality.

Hybrid vehicle and battery production under one roof

As the global automotive industry moves toward electrification, Toyota continues to invest in different powertrain technologies in line with its multi-pathway mobility approach.

The Toyota C-HR and Corolla models produced in Sakarya respond to the needs of global markets, while the plant’s plug-in hybrid battery production line with an annual capacity of 75,000 units makes Türkiye an important manufacturing center for Toyota’s European operations.

The technical experience and production know-how developed by employees in Türkiye are also shared with other Toyota plants worldwide. This positions the Sakarya facility not only as a manufacturing plant, but also as an engineering center that develops knowledge and production processes.

With its production capability, engineering infrastructure and high quality standards, the facility continues to play an important role in Toyota’s European production organization.

Investments continue toward carbon-neutral production

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Türkiye also places sustainability among its strategic priorities. In line with Toyota Europe’s 2040 carbon-neutral target, the company continues to invest in low-emission technologies, renewable energy applications and sustainable logistics solutions.

Significant increase in women’s employment

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Türkiye is also strengthening its diversity and inclusion policies in production. Thanks to ergonomic and process improvements at the plant, the share of women employees has increased from 3 percent in 2022 to 19 percent today.
