Efficient workpiece carrier return with innovative vertical lift connection from Montech
Montech’s innovative vertical lift connection delivers a compact, space-saving solution for returning workpiece carriers in tight production environments. Instead of using a conventional same-level return, ESD-compliant carriers are transported efficiently and autonomously back to the main line in a continuous process, utilizing the LT40 transfer system combined with a pneumatically driven lift.
This approach ensures a smooth, uninterrupted production flow, maximizes space utilization, and provides high flexibility in both assembly and manufacturing lines. It also allows easy access to production cells while maintaining an appealing, functional design.
The Challenge
The production site offers limited space, and the main process line for workpiece handling is already occupied by large positioning and straightening units. Returning empty workpiece carriers in parallel at the same level is not possible due to these constraints. Additionally, processed workpieces require protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD).
The Solution
Montech’s vertical lift connection offers a smart, elegant answer to these challenges. Integrated into the LT40 pallet-handling system, it uses a pneumatically driven lift to autonomously return ESD-compliant carriers with finished products to the main line in a continuous process. This vertical approach optimizes limited floor space, supports independent process expansion, and maintains high operational flexibility. The functional, attractive design also enables direct access to production cells and seamless adaptation to evolving manufacturing requirements.
