Flexibility to users with Siemens, SINUMERIK Edge platform

Siemens announced that it has developed the Analyze MyMachine / Condition Edge application on the SINUMERIK Edge platform with the MindSphere application. Thus, while it becomes possible to intelligently combine Edge and cloud computing with Mindsphere added to the application, critical processes such as condition assessment, analysis and comparison will be carried out easily for all connected machines.

SINUMERIK Edge Application Analyze MyMachine / Condition, introduced by Siemens at the 2019 EMO Fair, uses high-frequency CNC data to generate the mechanical fingerprint of a machine tool. In this application, users can take and evaluate various parameters such as stiffness, friction, and backlash on individual axles with the help of measurement series that can be flexibly configured. These measurement results can then be visualized and compared with reference data.

The new and complementary Mindsphere application for Analyze MyMachine / Condition also allows for machine-to-machine comparisons and evaluations. Warning and service thresholds can be monitored and visualized separately for each asset, and the statuses of different machines can be monitored for a longer period of time. This allows users to detect deviations over a longer period of time. In addition, anomalies in different machines can be detected. Analyze MyMachine / Condition for SINUMERIK Edge and Mindsphere thus contributes to the early detection of critical deviations and avoiding production interruptions caused by need-based maintenance measures. Thus, this application increases the productivity of machine tools.
